Warrior Women: Erotic Fantasy Fiction by Trisha Monks Reviewed for Real Lesbian Porn & Sapphic Erotica by Jenny Kay This is one of those rare erotic fiction sites where the red-hot temperature of the storylines is perfectly matched by the quality of the writing. I stumbled upon Trisha's site after reading about it at Monica's Reviews, which I sometimes use when I need a discerning guide through the bewildering maze of web erotica. I didn't even read Monica's whole review of Warrior Women: it was enough to see her exclamation "Wow!" in the first paragraph. And so I clicked the link and found myself in Trisha's world of sex and swords, a kind of Tolkienesque place of her own devising, where humans and elves and orcs and dwarves engage in all sorts of kinky activity. You'll find some truly exquisite stories here, with more than enough lesbian action to satisfy those who seek high quality girl-on-girl erotica. The female characters are strong, sexy and so eloquently portrayed that their personalities seem almost real. There's a very neat and beautifully sad little tale called Karin's Kiss which pretty much sums this up. Monica captured the ethos of Warrior Women perfectly when she reassured us that Trisha's creations are not the stereotypical Dungeons & Dragons heroines so beloved of nerdy young guys. No indeed, these ladies are the kind of kick-ass femmes who get moody or sentimental or funny when they drink too many beers. They curse and belch and tell dirty jokes. They get into bar-room brawls, find someone to sleep with and then wake up with a hangover. Their sexual antics are described by Trisha in jaw-dropping scenes which are easily the most graphic and best-written erotic encounters I've ever had the pleasure to read. My favourite Warrior Women characters are a trio of lovable sword-toting barbarians known as the Three Vixens, two of whom are a pair of bickering blonde dykes while the third is a bisexual brunette who reminds me a lot of Xena. The realistic banter and quickfire chit-chat between these three women is, for me, one of the reasons why I continue to visit Trisha's site. Most of the Vixen tales feature explicit lesbian scenes, with threesomes or foursomes being the norm. The girl-on-girl sex is vivid but not relentless, sometimes kinky, but with an underlying tenderness that has almost moved me to tears on more than one occasion. Trisha always includes a great deal of kissing and caressing, the characters usually starting off with sexual (and often witty) conversation before moving by stages to the inevitable crescendo. For a perfect sample of a Three Vixens story I recommend the short tale Slurp Slurp which, as if you didn't guess, is about the delights of cunnilingus. Other Vixen gems are A Special Taste (in which one of the trio recounts her seduction by two lesbian elves – Liv Tyler, you better watch out!), The Dragon & Sharmoon (messy fun with primitive sex toys) and Can I Squeeze Them (a "first time" scenario with a teenage girl and soft sex but a very strong storyline). So far, there are no recognizably butch characters in Trisha's world, which I hope is an omission she might put right one day. There are, however, a motley crew of female orcs who are clearly based on the male examples in the Lord of the Rings movies. At first, I skipped the orc stories, thinking that the sex scenes might be too rough-edged and not quite my thing. Well, was I totally wrong or what? Trisha's orc girls are surprisingly attractive, in a savage kind of way, and they have quirky personalities that are sometimes capable of tenderness and affection. They are also funny, often without knowing it, and go a long way to fulfil the role of butch characters. Trisha's orc women have tattoos and piercings and strange haircuts, they act tough and they enjoy rough sex. One orc who features in several stories is a cute little oddball called Mousetooth, who tries to seduce a human woman in a very witty (and very hot!) tale called A Touch of Romance. Read it, and I hope you'll see what I mean when I describe Trisha's orc girls as sexy. Warrior Women has those useful story-codes that give clues about the erotic action. Look for the stories which have FF or FF+ after the title and you'll go straight to the good stuff. Many of the stories involving man-plus-woman (coded as MF) also include detailed lesbian scenes which in most cases are worth reading, such as The Dice of Fate and Castaway, but you might not want to trawl through all the hetero action to get there.
